The satyre is a common character of Greek mythology. Often horned and figurated with hoofs, now symbolizing an unbridled sexuality, he's supposed to spents time to seduce nymphs, female divinities of nature.
Here a satyre is represented hunting his partner across the forest, finding his tracks with a hair she left in branchs.
